If you happened to see a buzz of activity on the south side of YVR on the morning of April 15, there was no cause for alarm. The Airport Authority was simply testing emergency response plans with a live emergency exercise.

Idle-Free at YVR


As part of continued efforts to reduce emissions in our communities, the Airport Authority recently launched Idle-Free at YVR, a campaign designed to reduce unnecessary vehicle idling at the airport.

Did You Know?
The YVR portion of the Canada Line will be used for testing and commissioning of all trains before the Canada Line opens officially in November 2009. On April 1, YVR welcomed the first train to the line for testing, as shown in the picture above. The two-car train journeyed slowly from Templeton Station to YVR Airport Station and back, attracting considerable attention along the way.
