The YVR Aeronautical Noise Management Committee (ANMC) was established in the early 1990s and brings together various interests, including communities, airlines, industry pilots associations, air traffic control, governments, NAV CANADA and the Airport Authority to consider aeronautical noise issues. The committee provides a forum to discuss progress and get input on Noise Management Plan initiatives.

The Aeronautical Noise Management Committee will continue to play a key role in the monitoring of noise at YVR. In May 2001, a sub-committee of the ANMC was established specifically to review and monitor both the usage and the effects of departures on the north runway on an ongoing basis.
