The Airport Authority is governed by a Board of Directors, members of which are appointed by nominating entities, namely:

• The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia
• City of Richmond
• City of Vancouver
• Government of Canada
• Greater Vancouver Regional District
• Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia
• The Law Society of British Columbia
• The Vancouver Board of Trade

The nominated directors and their Nominating Entity agree upon a formal communications plan. The Nominating Entities’ satisfaction with communications is surveyed and published annually. The Board includes the Airport Authority President and CEO, and additional members appointed by the Board from the community at large.

The Board of Directors oversees the business conduct of the Airport Authority and the activities of management. The Board's fundamental objective is to ensure that the Airport Authority fulfills its objectives on an ongoing basis and operates in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.
