VAEL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vancouver International Airport Authority. Its purpose is to hold the Airport Authority's interests in the operating subsidiary - YVR Airport Services Ltd. (YVRAS).
YVR Airport Services Ltd. (YVRAS)
Vancouver Airport Services (YVRAS), a subsidiary of Vancouver International Airport Authority, markets the expertise, operating philosophies and leading-edge systems developed at YVR. It is one of the leading global airport operators.
YVRAS has management contracts to operate 18 airports in seven countries, and provides consulting services at several other airports.
YVR Project Management (YVRPM)
YVR Project Management is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vancouver International Airport Authority established in 2005 to oversee major expansion projects at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
The primary project the company is responsible for delivering is the $420-million expansion to the International Terminal Building, which will add nine new gates in two phases. The first phase, scheduled for completion in 2007, will provide four wide-body gates, two of which will be able to accommodate the new Airbus A380, the world's largest aircraft. This phase will also include the addition of a narrow-body gate to the existing east wing of the terminal. Phase two will add five new gates.
